Job Placement Digest
Data and Artificial Intelligence can be considered valuable only when they enable better decision making. During my academic education and project experience, I realized that the best results are achieved when there is the combination of analytics and human judgment. As a student of Marketing major with Data-Driven Marketing Concentration and Business Analytics Minor at the University of Illinois Chicago, I have learned how to use my technical and analytical skills to find hidden insights and understand the significance of context, transparency, and wise decision making.
One of the examples of projects that helped me to realize this perspective was the telecommunications customers churn analysis done in IBM Cognos Analytics. Instead of finding what customers would churn the most, I decided to learn what reasons lay behind this behavior and develop the strategy for the retention of customers. In another project of Google Trends data analysis, I decided not to rely only on the data itself but also verify some of the sudden increase in search volume against some events in real life.
Through such experience, I realize that being responsible means enabling the user with accurate data to make the right decisions rather than substituting for humans. This is precisely what makes me interested in Savi AI Health Advisors. The healthcare domain is one in which the application of thoughtful analytical thinking, transparency, and trustworthiness becomes more important because AI can influence the health of individuals.
I’m seeking an internship at Savi AI Health Advisors where I can apply this approach — using analytics and AI responsibly to improve patient experience and healthcare decision-making. I’m eager to learn from professionals implementing responsible AI in healthcare.
